Online Services

To use Online Services we recommend using the NHS App: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/

This is recommended by the NHS and gets the earliest functionality updates. You can request repeat medications, change your data sharing decisions, and view your available online records.

NHS Digital has other recommended providers as well: GP Connect and Patient Access are popular apps among patients. We do not have the resources to give technical support with apps. While we can help with facilitating access, the app providers are responsible for product support. You will need to contact them if the app does not work.

To use any of these online service providers you will need to request access from your GP practice first. For this we will need to verify your identity, this includes your email address. We need your email address so that we can email you your secure token which you need to register with any of these services. This expires after 48 hours of activation so please keep an eye on your emails after the request.

NHS App also allows patients to self-verify themselves but they still need to request online service access from their GP surgery.

Once you have registered you will be able to:

  • Book and cancel appointments (currently suspended)
  • Update your personal details
  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • View your medical record (For online access to medical records you will need to fill in an additional consent form at the practice) once the government go-live date is finalised
  • View your allergies
  • Update your organ donation preferences

We recommend that patients check their Summary Care Record settings once they gained access.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. Please contact the Surgery to make an appointment for a review a week or two before the review date.
